Our
Student Minister Matt asked some of the leaders in the Youth group what their
Jesus was like. It’s a good question. His answer is beyond interesting;
listen to how he worded it…. “My Jesus listens to classic Rock and
Roll.” Maybe you’ve thought about it yourself. Maybe you’ve
voiced it to others. It’s possible that someone has asked you the same
question and you have answered it in your own way. I was thinking about some
possible responses. They might sound like this:
-My Jesus wears cowboy boots
-My Jesus has a beehive hairdo
-My Jesus likes flip flops
-My Jesus listens to classical music
-My Jesus likes Country Music (I know mine does)
-My Jesus would drive a fast car
-My Jesus would ride a horse
-My Jesus likes to read books
-My Jesus is from the electronic world
-My Jesus eats meat
-My Jesus only likes vegetables
-My Jesus is totally organic
-My Jesus lives on a farm
-My Jesus loves the city life
-My Jesus is into politics
-My Jesus likes sports
-My Jesus quilts
-My Jesus sleeps late
-My Jesus gets up early
And the list could keep on going. This next month at Church we are going to
be looking at Jesus through some different eyes. The eyes of a Child, the eyes
of God, the eyes of faithful adults, and on the last week, we are going to take
a look at Jesus through the eyes of teenagers. I don’t know exactly how
everything will play out, but I know this, each week we are going to be focused
on the one and only living God.
Maybe you have some thoughts on what your Jesus looks like and you’ve
been waiting to tell someone. Well now’s your chance. Tell me if you
would, “What does your Jesus look like?”
Grace and Peace to you,
Phil
